                                 James O'Brien

James O'Brien is currently an assistant professor in the Management and Organization Studies Program, Faculty of Social Science, University of Western Ontario. He teaches organizational behavior and human resource management, with particular interests in human resources selection and judgment and decision-making.

As a doctoral candidate at the Ivey Business School, he is completing his dissertation research into interviewer individual differences in motivated reasoning under the supervision of Dr. Mitch Rothstein.

He has worked as a technical writer, editor, and marketing communicator. James dabbled in media production including video direction and writing as well as performing in a few modest radio pieces.

James is a retired member of the Canadian Army, where he served from 1987-1995 as a field artillery officer. He is a 1987 graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada, and holds an M.A. in English from Queen's University, and MBA from Memorial University of Newfoundland.

He is an active father of two children, Maureen (6) and Conor (8), and husband to Susan. And on Thursday evenings, to the 77th cub pack of north London, Ontario, he is Bagheera, "the cunning, swift and fair black panther."
